We had the privilege of photographing a very special bride at the new Chateau Selah in Blountville, TN this weekend. The bridal portraits are gorgeous but those must wait until after the big day! It was such a perfect location I couldn’t wait to show you some of these stunning views. More to come in June so stay tuned!

The Pink Book, a part of Jacob Marketing Inc. and affiliated with Premier Bride Magazine, is a resource tool to help brides plan weddings in Charlotte, NC; Chattanooga, Knoxville, Tri-Cities, TN; Memphis, TN; and Nashville, TN.

We are thrilled to announce that Denise Spears has started her own wedding planning website! You might remember the name from our previous post about the Spears/Hammer Wedding last year. Emily, the bride, and Denise, the very creative MOB (mother of the bride), worked very hard to make her wedding unique. Denise is extremely talented and experienced with event planning and floral design so check out her website if you are in the market for a great wedding planner/event coordinator. She is a true artist! We are also partial since she used our photos from Emily’s gorgeous wedding on her new website. LOVE IT!

When Tom Young, with LakePoint Films, e-mailed us recently to tell us that one of our wedding’s highlight videos was up on his website we couldn’t wait to see what he had in store for us. Marie Fillers and Earl Johnson were married this past August in Johnson City, TN. We enjoyed every minute photographing their day especially working alongside videographers as personal and professional as Tom as his team. LakePoint really fits our style through another medium, video. This film, coupled with our photography, has to leave Marie and Earl simply ecstatic. I know if this was my wedding video I would be… AND this is only the highlights!!

Overbay Photography was featured on the Positive Approach Events & Consulting blog today!

Positive Approach Events & Consulting is an Event Planning Vendor for Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol, TN.

We had a wonderful experience with Brandi Woodall from Positive Approach at the Gragg/Whittemore wedding this past June in Kingsport, TN. She did an amazing job working with the bride and groom by coordinating the wedding and creating the perfect décor for the ceremony and reception on their big day!

Sometimes gymnasiums are difficult to decorate for wedding receptions but we loved how Brandi worked with what she had and brought the high ceilings down to our level by using pink, purple, and white paper lanterns. The table runners and centerpieces from Crate & Barrel were very stylish as well. Overall, great job!

BANQ–Downtown Kingsport

A good friend of mine, Luke Brogden, sent me some info today about a new exciting space that is opening up in downtown Kingsport. He asked that I spread the word to brides in the Tri-Cities area who are still in the planning stages. Luke works for a new downtown development team called “Urban Synergy.” The new space will be known as BANQ, a luxurious 295-capacity banquet hall located on the second floor of the First National Bank Building on the corner of Center and Broad St.

Many of us, including myself, have been forced to look in surrounding cities for venues to host rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, parties, reunions and even corporate events but now there is a classy Downtown space to celebrate in. BANQ has floor to ceiling arched windows, acid-stained concrete floors, exposed brick walls, and ornate Corinthian style columns. There is a coat check room, a warming kitchen and an AV room with a projector and screen. There will also be a 1-bedroom loft available for bridal parties/wedding night, etc.

Final construction is still underway but they are booking the space now for April/May and beyond! Luke has told me that they will offer almost a 25% lower rate than the other spaces in the area. Feel free to spread the word to anyone you know who might need, in Luke’s words, “a stellar place to meet or celebrate.” I will do my best to keep you informed as more comes my way.
