Dodson/Cheatham Wedding

Lauren and Bo Cheatham tied the knot on November 18th, 2011. This was our last wedding of 2011 and it made for a fabulous finish! You might remember Lauren and Bo from their engagement session just a few months ago. They had a short engagement…but why wait? This couple is so apparently head over heels for each other. Their wedding ceremony was held at Salem Baptist Church and a reception followed with dinner and dancing at the infamous Sunsphere in downtown Knoxville. Lauren’s wedding cake and Bo’s grooms cake were two of my absolute favorites from this year! Scroll down to check out the cakes and some more of our favorites. Hoover/Cox Wedding

Sarah Hoover and Alex Cox were married on a popular wedding date this year–11.11.11! We enjoyed photographing their ceremony and reception held at Fairview United Methodist Church in Jonesborough, TN. You might remember their engagement session we shot earlier this year in the beautiful downtown Jonesborough area. I have really enjoyed getting to know this couple. Bieniek/Lynn Engagement Session

Christine and Kevin are getting married in 2013! I am looking forward to shooting their big day and was really excited they wanted to go ahead and take some engagement photos to remember this special time in their lives. Kelly/Diveto Wedding–Isle of Palms, SC

Jessica Kelly and Kevin Diveto tied the knot at the Citadel Beach Club in Isle of Palms, SC on October 9th, 2011. We happily made the trip to photograph their beach wedding and also enjoyed a nice vacation with our husbands. Their wedding was of course gorgeous, over looking the sand and the waves, but it was also SO MUCH FUN! Back in January, when I met with Jessica and Kevin, they shared with me their vision for their big day. I think it turned out to be everything they wanted and so much more!! Most destination weddings draw a close knit crowd of friends and family and this one was certainly no exception. Jessica and Kevin felt truly blessed to have had so many make the trip on their behalf. The couple even sent guests away with their own custom centerpiece representing all of the many beaches that have meant something to them as individuals and as a couple over the years. Parker/Overbay Wedding

Needless to say, this was a very special wedding for me to photograph. The Parker/Overbay Wedding was the first wedding I have photographed for a family member. Jon Overbay is my husband’s cousin. After shooting some engagement photos for them down on “Pepaw’s farm” last year at Thanksgiving they asked that I photograph their wedding as well. Almost a year later–here we are! I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. The Overbay’s and the Parker’s made my job very easy. The venue, Hidden River Events in Asheville, NC, was rustic and very down-to-earth with breathtaking views of the NC mountains. I loved all of the details and colors they chose–all the way down to the mason jars!! Thanks again for asking me to photograph your big day. Catherine–welcome to the family!

Dodson/Cheatam–Engagement Session

This bride-to-be, Lauren Dodson, contacted me only 2 short months ago about photographing her wedding in November. No, not November 2012…THIS November, 2011! That’s only 1 month away from today!! I thought she had her work cut out for herself planning a wedding with such a short engagement but I guess when you’re in love, like these two so clearly are, why wait?! I was happy to turn around her engagements quickly so that she won’t have to miss out on any of the fun stuff. She has ordered an enlarged engagement photo canvas as well as one of our storybook guestbooks that I cannot wait to design. Coming Soon! My husband assisted me at this engagement session at World’s Fair Park where the infamous sun-sphere is located. The couple’s wedding reception will be held there and you might notice we incorporated it into the background of a lot of these photos. After that we headed downtown to the location of their first date–Regal Cinema’s on Gay St. I just love downtown Knoxville at dusk! Such an exciting place for dinner and a date night at the movies! Norris/Pratt Wedding

Meredith Norris and Zack Pratt tied the knot on July 23, 2011. This was our last wedding during “busy season” and it was a good one! The couple exchanged vows in a ceremony held at Arlington Church of Christ and celebrated their nuptials with a reception at Beaver Brook Country Club. Meredith looked stunning in her wedding gown along with her bridesmaids all dressed in navy blue with beautiful purple bouquets designed by Lisa Foster. The groom and his groomsmen wore tan suites with navy blue ties accented with white polka-dots. We just loved the color palette from this wedding! Let’s just let the pictures do most of the talking. Gouge/Reasor Wedding

Emily Gouge and Chris Reasor are now Mr. and Mrs! It seems like only yesterday I was leading her group of 7th grade girls at Disciple Now. What a beautiful and elegant young lady Emily has become. This, for sure, was a special wedding for us because the ceremony was held in our hometown church, Colonial Heights Baptist. The day began as Emily and her bridesmaids got ready at the Allandale Mansion, where the reception would be held later that evening. The girls’ dresses were pale pink bateau neck cocktail dresses by Alfred Sung. Emily’s wedding gown was designed by Nicole Miller in a candlelight shade. The guys wore charcoal grey suits from Jos. A. Banks. The bouquets and floral arrangements were all hand created by the MOB’s (mother of the bride’s) cousin, Mrs. Elsa Parsons. They were gorgeous! The whole day was very classic and chic. The wedding was directed by our very own Heather Arms – usually Overbay Photography assistant extraordinaire. With her experience assisting at numerous weddings over the years, she was able to help Emily achieve the day of her dreams. After the ceremony, there was a “dessert reception” at Allandale, all created by Main St. Catering. There were tarts, truffles, treats, crepes, pies, ice cream sundaes, and of course cupcakes! They even fed each other their favorite cupcakes – Carrot cake for Chris & Red Velvet for Emily. YUM! Friends and family danced the night away and seemed to have a blast. The mansion’s side walk was lined with luminaries as guests said their goodbyes and the new couple took off for their honeymoon in Jamaica. We want to wish them all the love and happiness for many years to come. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Reasor!

Hughes/Gillespie Wedding

Stacie Hughes has been one of my most loyal clients since the start of Overbay Photography. She and her family have been some of my biggest fans and for that I am sincerely grateful. When Stacie shared the news of her engagement, I could not wait for her wedding to arrive. We of course met several times before the wedding for her engagements and bridal portraits but I still couldn’t wait until her big day! The bride and groom withstood some rain the morning of the wedding–for good luck! Then, just in time for the ceremony, the skies cleared and the sun shined brightly above the mountain tops at the Ridges golf course in Jonesborough, TN.
